An Idaho State Trooper barely escaped a deadly accident with a semi-truck last week. The State Trooper was responding to a crash near Rathdrum, Idaho when he was nearly struck and seriously injured by a large truck.
According to ISP, the trooper was investigating the scene of a car accident at the intersection of Idaho 53 and Ramsey Road. As the Idaho State Trooper was walking around the wrecked vehicle on the side of the intersection, a flatbed truck came barreling toward him.
The officer just barely jumped out of the way before the truck completely threw the already wrecked vehicle off the road. Even the Idaho State Trooper’s dash cam caught the entire “close call” on video.
Last week, ISP Trooper Llerenas was struck on SH 53/Ramsey Road while investigating a collision. Luckily he wasn't injured. Help keep our area's first responders safe! Please slow down, move over, and pay attention when approaching emergency vehicles/incidents. pic.twitter.com/vH4j9FSGYe

A man nearby quickly fled his vehicle and ran to the officer asking, “Are you OK? Are you all right?”
Thanks to the officer’s last-minute reflexes and sheer luck, he made it out unharmed.
Idaho State Police have taken this opportunity to remind drivers to slow down when approaching an emergency services vehicle or stopped police ahead.
Legislators expanded that same law to tow truck drivers and highway workers as well.
