A 21-year-old Homedale woman was pronounced dead Sunday morning after her car was discovered in a nearby canal. The Idaho woman was found deceased inside her vehicle by local authorities between Nampa and Caldwell.
The vehicle was spotted off of Route 55 near Celeste Street.
Canyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash only shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Officials reported that the Homedale woman, who’s name has not yet been released, was the only passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Accident investigators have not yet determined if alcohol played a key role in the canal crash. Authorities do not believe any other vehicle was involved in the accident.
Canyon County Sheriff’s Department are continuing to investigate the canal crash and urge any potential witnesses to reach out if they have any information.
