A Canadian man visiting from Alberta died in a rollover crash early afternoon on Wednesday. The rollover crash took place on Interstate 15 between Idaho Falls and Spencer, Idaho. One other person was injured in the rollover crash.
Idaho State Police stated that victim, Norman Hill, 78, was driving south along I-15 when the motor home he was steering suddenly veered off the right shoulder and rolled over. The motor home torn apart, with pieces scattered along the side of the interstate. The motor home was later identified as a 2014 Monaco Dynasty model. The crash took places not far from the 178 mile marker on I-15.
Hill was pronounced dead at the scene of the rollover crash and his wife, Elanor Hill, 79, also of Alberta, was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center to treat the serious injuries she suffered. Investigators with the Idaho State Police do not know if alcohol or drugs are to blame, nor if either victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The rollover crash is still being investigated.
Traffic along the southbound lanes of I-15 was backed up for hours after the crash. The wreckage was eventually cleared and the flow of traffic ensued.
